Under The Mangroves - Brisbane Family Photographer

It was a hot and windy afternoon at the Wynnum boardwalk, butterflies were out in force flittering about the trees, so many it was almost too many.

Four year old Eli was hiding behind his parents as I introduced myself in the carpark, a shy facade but I could tell it would only be a matter of time before we were best friends.

Little Isabelle was cuddled in her favourite spot - mums arms.

We started our walk down towards the boardwalk and by the time we had stopped for our first photos Eli was already starting to come out of his shell. We took a few photos on this lovely wooden bridge when the sun was just starting to sparkle between the trees around us.

After that we wandered further down the track to the ocean. It is so peaceful down there, the sound of the birds in the mangroves above us and the smell of the ocean and the mudflats below.  A lot of people were out enjoying the boardwalk with their dogs and prams so we had to stop every now and then to let people by.

Isabelle has just started standing and taking steps on her own, but this afternoon she was most content rummaging around on the ground picking up leaves and rocks and throwing them over the side of the boardwalk down to the crab holes below.

When the sun had dropped to its magic level we started the journey back to the carpark, photographing the most picturesque images on the way. I love the sunburst photos where the golden rays are streaming in befhind a beautiful family photo, and gosh we captured a lot of those!

By the time we were back to the top of the hill the sun had dropped behind the houses and we decided to push our luck for one more family photo, one of my signature photos actually, where the kids are in the foreground and the parents are behind and out of focus.  After having some trouble trying to get a sibling photo earlier in the session I had low hopes of pulling this shot off today, but guess what? Suddenly the planets all aligned and both Eli and Isabelle smiled at the same time and just like that, we had the photo.

I just love when it all works out in the end.

It was a wonderful afternoon with this gorgeous family and you can see from these photos just how much love they have for each other.
