Sitter Session - Brisbane Baby Photographer

Eep! I just photographed this little guys first birthday session and realised I hadn't yet shared his adorable sitter session - so here it is!

The first person I saw when I opened the door to welcome this family back for their sitter session was big sister Novelle - and I couldn't believe how much she had grown since her little brother was born! She still had the shy, cheeky smiles and darted straight for the toy box again, but she was so much taller and her hair has grown too.

Then I got the biggest shock when I saw how much Hunter had changed! Not just is he a big solid boy now, but his hair has changed from dark brown to a very pale blonde just like his mum.

It was a lovely morning with these three, we got some adorable family photos with each of the kids and mum then it was on to sibling photos. This didnt go quite so well.

Baby sessions can be tricky because we are working in between nap times to ensure they are the happiest we can get. Sometimes nap time can creep up on us and before we know it the smile bank is running low and the session starts to slow down while little ones have extra cuddles and snacks.

We always get some great shots, even though Hunter was not his usual smile-loaded self we still coaxed some out here and there and I was on high alert that I didnt miss them when they came! I am also a fan of some of the more inquisitive looks as well as a great big smile, those looks can tell such a story!

He lit up so much when his favourite teddy bear came out, he cuddled and rolled it around in his hands and feet until he found the little tag, then he rubbed the silky tag between his fingers and you could see him relax right away. Tags, always the best part of stuffed toys.

Hunters newborn session was a lot of neutral tones and browns so we used those same colours again for his sitter session. I like to tie in themes or setups from a newborn session into sitter sessions and first year sessions to help show how much the little people grow in that time.

I got so many snuggles in with Hunter at this session. I got some while his mum filled in paperwork, I got some while his sister was getting changed and I got even more at then end when we were packing everything back down to the car. I do love a sneaky snuggle with my little visitors, its probably one of my favourite parts of the shoot!
